MICK VERWEIJ
Mick Verweij (1988) from Nijmegen (NL) is the creative force behind The New Funky, a platform built to surprise people with music they didn’t know they needed. He moves somewhere between curator, musician and scene builder, always digging for fresh funk, jazz, blues and soul and pushing it into the world.
On stage, he plays guitar in several jazz projects. Off stage, he programs the weekly Record Store Sessions at PAAK Vinyl Bar and runs a platform for jazz in Nijmegen, keeping track of the scene and giving it a push where needed.
Along the way, he’s built strong ties with a wide range of artists, both in the Netherlands and beyond. No pay to play, no bullshit. Just real music, real people, and more live music because more live music is simply more better.

Jeroen Van genuchten
Jeroen started playing funk on his alto sax 40 years ago, inspired by Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer. With The Jig he recorded in NYC and did five tours in Brazil. Nowadays he plays sax in T&A Connection and the Soul Survivors, bands that have their home base in the Rock Supplies Studios in Amsterdam. Next to that, he owns Funk & Soul Records store, B-Crack Record label and Blazer Bookings. Always willing to help talented musicians that share his dedication to pure, uncut funk, soul, blues and jazz.
