The Next Movement is taking their explosive funk neo-soul live show to new heights in 2026, unleashing their biggest tour yet alongside their upcoming new album slated for October 2026! With their signature blend of deep groove, virtuosic musicianship and unshakable good vibes, this dangerous trio is poised to light up stages and festivals across Europe and beyond. We had the opportunity to ask J.J. Flueck (Drums & Samples, Lead Vocals) a couple of questions about their new single Love It Or Leave It Alone.

TNF:  Love It or Leave It Alone feels like a statement. What’s the tension or truth behind that title?

J.J.: “Love It Or Leave It Alone” is a feel-good, soul-infused anthem built on timeless wisdom and undeniable groove. Blending uplifting mantras with smooth, infectious repetition, the track champions self-respect, authenticity, and doing things the right way — or not at all. It’s a vibey, crowd-moving reminder that real love, real passion, and real living only work when you truly mean it.

TNF: The groove sits deep in this one. Where did it start, rhythm, message, or just a moment in the studio that clicked?

J.J.: Thank you! In fact this was a jam moment in the studio that clicked. We had the groove to the verse and the hook and from there started exploring with the message and lyrics.

As we abolutely love ride-outs on songs, especially live also, it was very obvious to make it superfunky and hi-energy on the ride-out here.

TNF: There’s a signature The Next Movement feel in here, but also something new. What did you consciously push or explore with this release?

J.J.: Glad to hear! It actually all fell into place very naturally. There’s our love for neo-soul grooves with much space but also our affinitiy to fullblown funkiness with synths and vocals and everything in the ending section. this just came together effortlessly, but now in retrospect we feel it’s a great and equal mix of neo-soul and funk. we love that.

TNF: Funk has always been about more than just sound, it’s attitude, culture, resistance. What does funk mean to you right now?

J.J.: Absolutely. Funk is the attitude, the dirt, the nastiness, the inbetween. „The One“! We just can’t help but to be funky. And we think the world needs some of that raw energy right now, but that’s also uplifting at the same time.

TNF: When this track hits a live crowd, what do you want to see happen in that room?

J.J.: It should start out with some heads bobbin’, some feet movin' and later culminate in a full force churchy funk explosion with people screaming the „yeahs“ in the outro!
